Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is University West’s overarching profile and basic principle applied to learning, the exchange of ideas, and educational development. The government has assigned the distinguished task of developing WIL to University West. Work integrated learning in education and research develops new, relevant and advanced knowledge both within the academy and among its partners, which also benefits society in general. University West seeks professor in Industrial Work Integrated Learning (I-WIL), focusing on industry's knowledge production and competence change with coupling to digitalization. The employment is mainly based on the research environment PRIMUS, which is a multidisciplinary research environment where technology and learning are studied in new combinations to enable industry to actively transform the working methods for technology development and new competence requirements. Within I-WIL, research is conducted through co-production of both academic and practical or experience-based knowledge. It is a socio-technical perspective as the new working conditions and digitization are examined, thus updating questions about forms and content of knowledge production and change of competencies. Understanding of an industry's maturity and preparedness for competent action is expressed by its employees (skills), processes, data and technology, which represents the overall theme of I-WIL research. The environment has thus had a clear business-oriented profile towards co-production and learning with organizations and companies in production.

Duties:
Placement for the employment is at the Department of Economics and IT, and primarily covers research related to PRIMUS and the core area of I-WIL.

The Group of Industrial Work Integrated Learning (I-WIL) is being developed to become a national and internationally leading environment for research and education on how people create and use technology, as well as how technological change is interwoven with behavioural patterns, work life, competency conditions, leadership and governance.

At the department, graduate and undergraduate education focuses on questions about digitalization in industry and what this means for organizations, competence supply and management.

The position primarily involves research, planning and development of the area I-AIL through teaching and supervision, but with a special responsibility for research and education related to informatics with a focus on industrial work-integrated learning. In the work processes, in addition to your own research, you should also inform about research and development work, as well as participate in planning and applying for research projects. Administrative tasks, including management assignments within the department as well as at other levels within University West may also occur.

You are expected to make clear and innovative contributions to I-WILs research program. In addition to the institution's research activities, where you are expected to take a leading role in developing new perspectives and projects, you will also be active in the vital learning environment LINA (Learning in and for the New Workplace), in which I-WIL is included.

Eligibility:
- Graduated doctoral degree in informatics, work science, pedagogy, business administration, or equivalent.
- For this employment, substantial experience is required in conducting independent research that significantly exceeds what is required for the teacher's competence according to practice in the subject field.
- Proven pedagogical proficiency.

In addition, this appointment requires:
- Proven ability to cooperate.

- Teaching and research in the context of this employment is mainly in English, therefore it is a requirement that the applicant can demonstrate documented scientific and pedagogical proficiency in English.

- Even the planning, initiation, management and development of research as well as the ability to receive competitive research grants are important. Particular merits for this employment is the documented ability to communicate and disseminate research with public and relevant actors. Other desired qualities of this employment are international contacts and academic networks.

- Particularly merits for this employment is documented scientific skill in the innovative development of theoretical and methodological perspectives relevant to I-AIL.

Assessment criteria:
Particular emphasis is placed on the degree of scientific and pedagogical skills as well as the ability to develop research and education activities in collaboration with colleagues and the surrounding community, especially in conjunction with organizations associated with industry. When assessing skill, consideration is given to the subject matter of the employment, subject description and tasks.
