Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is University West’s overarching profile and basic principle applied to learning, the exchange of ideas, and educational development. The government has assigned the distinguished task of developing WIL to University West. Work integrated learning in education and research develops new, relevant and advanced knowledge both within the academy and among its partners, which also benefits society in general. University West offers a wide variety of study programs, has a good number of applicants and the students show a high entry rate on the labor market. The main research environments at University West are Production technology, Learning in and for the new working life and Child and youth studies and is conducted in collaboration with the surrounding society. University West is seeking a lab assistent

The Department of Engineering Science is seeking a student employee as a lab assistent who can assist with conducting laboratory activities in the automation lab together with the examiner/teacher.

Form of Employment

The Student Employee Agreement is a special form of employment designed to allow you, as a student, to work a limited number of hours (approx. 50 h for the current position) alongside your studies on tasks that have a clear connection to your academic program.

The aim is to enhance the quality of your studies while also providing you with greater insight into the conditions and responsibilities of public administration.

A student employee position is a fixed-term assignment that may run for a maximum of four semesters. If you would like to read more about the Student Employee Agreement, you can do so here.

The employment is renewed on a semester-by-semester basis, and salary is based on an agreed pay scale.

Tasks:

In this position you will primarily be participating in and assisting with the supervision of students in practical laboratory sessions related to the course Robot Technology, RBT101. These laboratory sessions can be both hands-on with our physical equipment and in various simulation environments.

Eligibility Requirements for this position:

To qualify for a position as a student employee, you must, according to the agreement, meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled in full-time studies at a higher education institution
  • Have successfully completed at least 60 higher education credits
  • You must not have started doctoral studies

Other requirements for this position:

  • You must be enrolled as a student at University West, specializing in automation.
  • You must have completed courses in Robot License RBK600 or RBT100 or equivalent.

Meritorious for the position:

  • Knowledge in Swedish
  • Completed courses in Robot Simulation (RMS700), Robotics (RCS600 or RBS720), Robot License (RBK600), and Automation Technology (ATM700) at University West.

The position is temporary.
