Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is University West’s overarching profile and basic principle applied to learning, the exchange of ideas, and educational development. The government has assigned the distinguished task of developing WIL to University West. Work integrated learning in education and research develops new, relevant and advanced knowledge both within the academy and among its partners, which also benefits society in general. University West offers a wide variety of study programs, has a good number of applicants and the students show a high entry rate on the labor market. The main research environments at University West are Production technology, Learning in and for the new working life and Child and youth studies and is conducted in collaboration with the surrounding society. Campus is centrally located in Trollhättan with about 13,000 students and 700 employees.

Job Description/Your role

Are you interested in meeting students from other cultures and would like to support them in finding their way around in Sweden and teaching them basic Swedish for everyday life? Then apply for work as a Student Ambassador at the International Office at University West!

As a Student Ambassador, your main tasks will be:

To help build a bridge between Swedish and International Students and prepare and hold Swedish lessons for University West’s international students in cooperation with the International Office throughout the academic year.

Your work tasks include;

  • Give Swedish lessons to international students.
  • Supporting students during their study period.

Qualifications/Your profile

We are searching for current students at University West for this job.

As a person, we expect you to be a good collaborator, to be open-minded and to enjoy meeting new people. You also possess the ability to plan and structure your work. To be eligible for this role you need:

  • Fluent skills in English and Swedish
  • Interest in intercultural exchange
  • Be a University West student
  • Ideally you are currently studying in one of the teacher programs, but this is not a necessary requirement

We will attach great importance to personal suitability.
To be an active member of the International Student Committee at University West is meritorious.

The employment is based on an intermittent agreement.
