University West is looking for a research assistant in arc welding
Role description
As research assistant in arc welding you will assist and support the research team. Your daily work will consist of (but not be restricted to):
- Prepare metallography samples
- Measure hardness
- Metallurgical characterization of HSLA steel using optical miscroscopy
- Write reports
- Assisting with courses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor in production engineering
- Course on Welding Processes at graduated level (minimal 6 HP)
- Qualification in metallography analysis (sample preparation, hardness, and OM analysis)
- Ability to communicate in English
The following skills will be meritorious:
- Knowledge of WAAM
- Knowledge of HSLA steel welding metallurgy
- Skill in using MS Excel and MS Word
- Knowledge of Design of Experiment
